We Need Regulation! Un-payed, un-credited and de-valued `I’ve been silent on this topic for a while I’ve wanted to keep an open mind on new technologies however I do not support the unethical practice of image scouring many AI’s are implementing. sourcing copyrighted work of fellow artists. Creating takes a lifetime of training, and for our work to be stolen and profited off of is simply wrong. This type of sampling doesn’t fly in the music industry why is it being allow to thrive here. These company’s don’t extend this courtesy to artists, knowing their legal recourse would be less formidable than the music industry’s, it’s time we are granted the same rights.
.
If my Intellectual property/ copyrights and other are not protected we can not financially afford to create new work and with AI allowed to steal at this level, you will quickly see human artists disappear just based on the economics alone, and there will be no new work for AI to steal, this is not a sustainable model nor an ethical one. AI isn’t making anything new its’s scraping stolen work together, this is clear to anyone who has seen their work pushed though one of these bots.
.
I don’t expect my non-artist friends to understand but I implore you to take a stand against AI generated art. AI may be a powerful tool in the future However this ant it. There are ethical ways to implement this technology however we need regulation in place and lines that should not be crossed.
.
I’ve already found hundreds of my images on https://haveibeentrained.com/ website, which locates images used to train popular AI art models. All used with out my knowledge.
